Two accused of breaking into cars

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Two Terre Haute teens were arrested Monday, accused of breaking into several cars on the city’s south side and stealing materials inside the cars.

Authorities believe Killian Adams, 19, and Caleb Strassler, 17, broke into at least three cars on Clayton Drive in Terre Haute’s Youngstown area, stole purses out of three of them and used bank cards from those purses to buy items at an area Wal-Mart and to buy food at an area McDonalds.

Police tracked down the two after looking at surveillance video from one of the stores at which those cards were used, according to documents filed in court.

Adams told investigators that the two had broken into about five cars on the night of May 11-12, while Strassler told investigators the two had broken into about 20 cars.

The two face several felony charges of theft, fraud and forgery.
