TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Three people face criminal charges, accused of a brutal weekend beating in rural Vigo County.

Early Sunday morning, sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of 96 th and Atherton in Northern Vigo County, where they found Brandon Pettiford badly injured on the ground. Pettiford was later taken to an Indianapolis hospital because of the extent of his injuries.

A woman with Pettiford told authorities that the two had left a party on Rio Grande Road after a fight. As the drove, she said, a white truck carrying several people followed them, tried to force them off the road and eventually stopped them.

When they stopped, she said, two men and one woman attacked her and Pettiford, beating him for several minutes before fleeing. Authorities later identified the three attackers as Jesse Norton, David Reyhill and Brittany Parish. Norton and Reyhill face charges of Aggravated Battery while Parish faces a misdemeanor battery charge.

Reyhill and Norton were both in court Tuesday. Both were ordered to have no contact with the victim in the case. Bond for both was set at $50,000.
