SULLIVAN CO., Ind. (WTHI) - Indiana State Police Detectives have identified a suspect involved in the Uptown Tavern bar altercation on September 1, 2012 that resulted in the death of Richard D. Pigg, 51, of Dugger.
James B. Gardner, 24, of Elnora, IN is currently wanted on a Sullivan County Superior Court warrant for Involuntary Manslaughter in relation to the death of Pigg.
Gardner is alleged to have punched Pigg on the side of his face, causing Pigg to fall and strike his head on the floor of the tavern. Pigg died of his injuries hours later at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Indiana State Police detectives are encouraging anyone with knowledge of Gardner’s whereabouts to contact the Putnamville Post at 765-653-4114 or their local law enforcement agency.
Gardner may be considered dangerous and should not be approached by non-police personnel.
