VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - The investigation continues into the shooting-death of a Southern Vigo County man.
Vigo County Sheriff Jon Marvel said they are interviewing a "person of interest" and following leads in the death of Albert Kiger.
Kiger was shot six times and killed at his home on Robertson Road early Thursday morning.
Officials said Kiger was also stabbed on Wednesday with a pitchfork, in his side and his face.
Marvel said Kiger was treated at the hospital for the stabbing but did not report it, claiming it was a farming accident.
Then, hours later he was shot and killed.
At this time, officials are talking to people who may have seen or talked with Kiger in the hours leading up to his death.
"Nobody heard the car drive away, nobody saw anything, nobody heard any gunshots, it's frustrating," Marvel said.
Officials are not releasing the name of the person of interest at this time.
If you have any information about the shooting you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at (812) 238-STOP.
