VIGO CO., Ind. (WTHI) - A Prairie Creek man accused of attacking two Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies in March pleaded guilty to two charges against him Friday.

Scott Strain, 24, was first arrested March 23, after deputies responded to reports that Strain was destroying property off S.R. 63. Officers said that when they tried to restrain him, Strain attacked the deputies, putting one of them in a choke hold and punching him.

On Friday, Strain pleaded guilty to two felony counts of battery resulting in bodily injury.

Under a plea agreement with prosecutors, other charges against Strain would be dropped and Strain would be sentenced to two three-year sentences which would be served at the same time. Those sentences are suspended except for 180 days.

With credit for time already served in jail, Strain would only have to serve three days of that sentence.

Strain was also ordered to pay restitution.
