TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Terre Haute Police desperately want help identifying the masked mystery man who walked into an Indiana State University fraternity house, attempted to enter at least one private room, ripped off the surveillance camera that captured him, then made a hasty exit.
The break-in, that required little effort at all, according to THPD Detective Farron Stevens, occurred right around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29. The Sigma Tau Gamma frat house is at 1130 South 6th Street in Terre Haute.
The intruder managed to rip off the camera recording him, but left behind the digital recording device that – at one point – shows the once masked mystery man, sans disguise.
“No case is ever easy, no matter what the evidence is,” said Detective Stevens. “We’d definitely like to talk to this guy, you know, find out what’s going on. We’ve had a lot of burglaries in that area. We’d like to see where it goes from there.”
Anyone with tips or information, or anyone who recognizes the man in the video can call CrimeStoppers at (812) 238-STOP.
