VERMILLION CO., Ind. (WTHI) - UPDATE: Indiana State Police have arrested Garrard without incident.

Indiana State Police troopers from the Putnamville Post have arrested Brian Keith Garrard, 34, of Bloomingdale, Ind. 

He was wanted for Criminal Recklessness with Serious Bodily Injury in Parke County Indiana and felony burglary in Douglas County Illinois.

Garrard was considered armed and dangerous.

Acting on a Wabash Valley Crime Stoppers tip called into the Indiana State Police, ISP troopers Todd Brown, David Petrowski, and Mike Wood, along with officers from the Brazil Police Department went to 501 North Vandalia Street in Brazil, to search for Garrard.

The address was the home of Brian Garrard’s mother. Garrard was located hiding in a rear storage room of the residence and taken into custody without incident. He was incarcerated in the Clay County jail. A family friend was at the home, but not Garrard’s mother.

The case is closed and no further investigation is needed.

There is no bond on the Parke County warrant and $50,000 bond on the Douglas County Illinois warrant.

Police need your help with locating an Indiana man considered to be armed and dangerous and wanted on multiple charges.

Brian Keith Garrard, 34, a fugitive who is supposed to be living in either the Clinton or Brazil areas, is wanted out of Parke County, Ind. and Douglas, Ill. on charges of Burglary and Criminal Recklessness by the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department.

Vermillion County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Strader described Garrard as a Caucasian male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing around 135 pounds.
