SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - News 10 learned that State Police detectives, along with the partnership of a local sheriff's department, are investigating a death in Sullivan County Saturday morning.

Sullivan County Dispatch received a call from the victim's son at around 9:30 a.m. stating he found his father dead.

Authorities arrived on the scene and found Lowell R. Badger, 85, dead from blunt force trauma injuries.

Detectives noticed several items missing from the home during their initial investigation.  They have not released what those items are.

An autopsy will be conducted on Monday at 8:00 a.m. by Dr. Roland Kohr at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.

The Indiana State Police is requesting anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area between the hours of 8:00 p.m. on December 7 and 9:23 Saturday morning, to contact ISP detectives at the Putnamville Post, (765) 653-4114, or CRIME STOPPERS at (812) 238-STOP.
