Police are dealing with bomb threat at an Ill. high school

Emergency crews are currently at the scene

NEWTON, Ill. (WTHI) - Local authorities responded to a call of a bomb threat at an Illinois high school Monday afternoon.

Newton Police, Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies, Wade Firefighters and Jasper County Ambulance personnel are currently at Newton Community High School due to the presence of a bomb threat called into the school.

We don't have a lot of information; however, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department stated no other information can be released at this time, as they are currently handling the situation.
