POLICE: Two juveniles arrested for Clay Co. burglaries

CLAY CO., Ind. (WTHI) - News 10’s Joe Astouski has already informed you of the recent burglaries around Clay Co., including two churches that had several thousand dollars worth of equipment stolen.

Now, the Clay Co. Sheriff’s Dept. has informed News 10 that two arrests had been made in the case.

Clay Co. Sheriff’s Deputies have been conducting an investigation regarding the recent break-ins of several Clay Co. churches.  Their investigation led deputies to the homes of several Clay Co. juveniles.

Deputies proceeded to interview several of the juveniles, which led to the arrest of two on Saturday evening in connection to the burglaries with the possibility of at least one more arrest to come.

Some of the stolen items have been recovered; however, it doesn’t compare with the dollar amount of items still missing.

The juveniles' identities will be withheld until further notice.

They two currently in custody will face Burglary, Theft, Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief.

The Clay Co. Sheriff’s Deputies are grateful for numerous calls regarding information given on the case from concerned neighbors.  The calls played a tremendous role in the apprehension of those responsible for the church break-ins.
