TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - One man is in jail and another is recovering after a weekend stabbing in Terre Haute.
Police said they were first called to 682 Lafayette Ave. around 8 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they reportedly found a man named James Brown who had been stabbed.
Brown was taken to Union Hospital, stabilized, and transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment, police said. A relative of Brown told News 10 that Brown underwent a successful surgery on his abdomen.
Police also arrested Charles Corn of Terre Haute, who is accused of the stabbing. According to police testimony in court, witnesses said that Corn and Brown had argued and fought earlier in the day and that the two met again later in the evening. They said that’s when the stabbing took place.
Corn faces a preliminary charge of Aggravated Battery. He is being held in the Vigo County jail on a $75,000 cash bond.
