One arrested in arson case in Clark County

CLARK CO., Ill. (WTHI) - Clark County (Ill.) Sheriff’s Deputies arrested one suspect in connection with an arson, which happened in Casey, Ill., that resulted with two victims taken to local hospital for medical care.

The initial arson happened some time last week. A residence was set on fire with two people inside.

The case was initially investigated by Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation was then turned over to the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Upon their investigation, they were able to determine it was arson and were able to have a warrant issued.

Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies quickly located Matthew Schwab, shortly after his warrant was issued.

Schwab was arrested for Aggravated Arson and Residential Arson.

Schwab is being held in the Clark County Jail at this time.
