TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A Vigo County man accused of breaking into a home and attacking a man in 2012 will not go on trial as planned.

David Scott had been scheduled to go on Tuesday on a charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon, but Monday night, prosecutors told News 10 that Scott pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of Criminal Recklessness.

Scott faces a two year suspended sentence with credit for time already served in jail.

Scott had previously served time in prison on a murder conviction, but he was later cleared of the crime by DNA evidence.
