MARSHALL, Ill. (WTHI) - Little information is known about the murder of Arnulfo Pacheco even less is known about the two people accused of taking his life.
Maria Pacheco, 16, and the 20-year-old man charged in the murder as well, Jarrod Riley.
Lori Amos and Gina Jordan are sisters both from Marshall, Illinois and both say their daughters were harassed by Jarrod Riley, online.
The mothers said their daughters were disturbed when Riley kept contacting them and then shocked to learn he was wanted for murder.
"She recognized his picture and said 'Mom this is the guy that texted me,'" Jordan said.
When Riley's face hit the news and the web several people sounded off, especially on our Facebook page.
Some viewers said Riley "harrassed" girls online through text messaging and Facebook.
One person even called him a "disturbed person."
He allegedly texted, called and sent messages numerous times to teen girls.
"He tried [contacting her] eight times before she figured out how to block him," Amos said. "He targeted Marshall High School girls."
The 20-year-old allegedly tried to befriend many high school girls, telling them he was new to the area and was trying to make friends.
"It just seems like his actions were very predatory," Jordan said.
Police haven't released any details as to his relationship with 16-year-old Maria Pacheco but News 10 has learned the two were Facebook friends.
Details around their relationship and the alleged murder remain unclear.
But for Jordan and Amos they said one thing is clear for kids to be careful who they befriend online.
News 10 has tried to contact Jarrod Riley's family without any success.
At this point, the Clark County Sheriff's Department will not release any information as to when Riley and Maria Pacheco will be brought back to Illinois.
We will continue following this story and bring you any new details in the case.
