TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - One man accused of shooting a Terre Haute motel manager pleaded guilty Monday.
The shooting happened in October 2011, when police say a white male walked into the Royal Inn on 3rd Street and shot a 59-year-old manager in the chest during a robbery.
Days later, police in Ellettsville, Ind. arrested Joseph Sims on separate charges. Authorities said they believed Sims was responsible for the Royal Inn robbery as well.
Sims was later charged with Attempted Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Class A Felony.
On Friday, Sims pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with credit for 376 days served in jail.
