Man in jail after hit and run

KNOX CO, Ind. (WTHI) - An Edwardsport, Indiana man remains in the Knox County jail this Thursday on charges of a hit and run.

Around 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Vincennes police were called to the scene of a hit and run crash at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Saint Clair Street.

Witnesses said a silver Nissan Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) left the scene after crashing into a black Nissan SUV.

A passenger in the black Nissan was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Police said they later found the silver Nissan and arrested 26-year-old Patrick Wanke for leaving the scene of an accident.

They also learned Wanke's license was suspended and found marijuana and paraphernalia inside his car.

He remains in jail on several vehicle and drug charges.
