Man hits another man with flashlight

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Allen Dove was sentenced to 10 years for aggravated battery.

Dove pleaded guilty to the charge after originally facing an attempted murder charge.

The West Terre Haute man admitted to attacking his friend, Michael Brewer, while Brewer was asleep at his home.

Police say Dove thought Brewer was having an affair with his wife, which is why he attacked him with an industrial flashlight. Brewer was brutally beaten in the head with the flashlight.

Dove will serve four years in the department of corrections, four years on work release, and two years on formal probabation.
