VIGO CO., Ind. (WTHI) - On Tuesday, November 20, Vigo County Sheriff Detectives charged Enzert G. Lewis, 38, with murdering his estranged wife Allyson Elmi-Lewis.
Allyson’s body was found by accident by a fisherman on SR 42 near the Vigo Co., Clay Co., line .
Originally, the body was nearly unidentifiable; however, Vigo County Coroner Dr. Roland Kohr was able to determine that Allyson died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Allyson’s body was identified by dental records after her family had reported her missing.
Lewis was interview at the time of the discovery of her body, and was arrested in violation of a No Contact Order, in which Allyson was the victim.
Lewis was additionally charged with Altering the Scene of a Death, Obstruction of Justice and Invasion of Privacy.
Vigo County Sheriff Greg Ewing had assembled a team of over twenty investigators, calling on assistance from multiple agencies throughout the Wabash Valley.
Enzert Lewis is being held in the Vigo County Jail on No Bond and will appear before Vigo County Superior Court Division 3 on 11/21/2012.
