Man charged with knife attack

VIGO CO., Ind. (WTHI) - A Terre Haute man is arrested on charges he attacked another man with a knife.

Officials with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department believe David Scott entered the home of Patrick Petit on Saturday evening. They believe he showed a knife and attacked Petit.

Authorities said Petit was taken to Union Hospital where he was treated and released. They said Scott left the scene before officials arrived.

Scott faces a felony charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon and is being held in the Vigo County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Scott has made the news before.

In 1985, Scott was convicted for the murder of 89-year-old Loretta Keith of West Terre Haute.

Scott was released from prison in January 2008 after DNA testing at the crime scene indicated he did not murder Ms. Keith.
