TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A Terre Haute man faces several criminal charges after allegedly threatening a former girlfriend and holding her against her will.
Joshua Angel, 30, was arrested Friday and faces felony charges of Criminal Confinement and Criminal Mischief along with a misdemeanor charge of Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury.
Crystal Thibodeaux, Angel’s ex-girlfriend, told police that the two had broken up and that she had called police to ask Angel to leave her home. Later, she said, Angel returned to the home and began arguing with her.
Thibodeaux said Angel locked the doors of the house, grabbed her by the hair and made a slashing motion with a knife. She said Angel also dragged her around the house by her hair while slashing at furniture with the knife and that he screwed the windows of the house shut to keep her from leaving or calling for help.
Thibodeaux said eventually she went to sleep and awoke the next morning to hear one of her family members yelling for her outside the home.
