TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The man arrested in what was first believed to be an abduction case was charged with one felony and one misdemeanor during a court hearing Monday morning.
It all began Thursday morning, when police received reports of a man possibly abducting a woman near the Juvenile Justice Center in Terre Haute. Surveillance video from the center appeared to show a man forcing a woman into a van.
Friday afternoon, authorities arrested 20-year-old Darrell Elder, Jr., after receiving a tip about his whereabouts.
Monday morning, authorities formally charged Elder with Criminal Confinement, and Battery. Elder was released on his own recognizance.
