SULLIVAN CO., Ind. (WTHI) - One man was arrested on Friday evening in Sullivan County in connection to a burglary.
Indiana State Police received a call from a concerned homeowner, whose residents were on CR 200 W., about a suspicious car in his driveway.
The homeowner sought the help of a nearby friend and also dialed 911 while following the suspect vehicle.
ISP Troopers Brent Robinson and Brian Thomas located the homeowner and the suspect on southbound SR 63 at CR 600 N.
The troopers pulled over Mark A. Dudley, 50, of Sullivan, Ind. and inspected his vehicle.
The investigation revealed to the troopers items that allegedly belonged to the home. Dudley was arrested.
Over the weekend, troopers were able to potentially link Dudley to two other residential burglaries in the Sullivan County area. Troopers recovered a stolen firearm, assorted jewelry and US currency with all totaling nearly $3,000.
Dudley was charged with Burglary, Residential Entry, Possession of Stolen Property and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
The investigation was conducted by ISP Trooper Mike Taylor. Assisting were ISP Sergeant Cory Robinson, Troopers Brian Thomas and Brent Robinson, Sullivan County Sheriff Brian Kinnett and Deputy Bill Snead and the Sullivan County Prosecutor’s Office.
Indiana State Police remind residents of the dangers with confronting burglary suspects and urge homeowners to contact law enforcement immediately if they suspect a burglary in progress.
