DUGGER, Ind. (WTHI) - Two men, including the alleged shooting suspect, were arrested and remain in the Sullivan County Jail after an early morning shooting in Dugger, which resulted in two gunshot victims.
James B. Gardner, Elnora, Ind., followed the alleged gunman home after police say the suspect shot at Gardner's windshield. Police say Garnder allegedly battered the gunman.
According to police officials, Gardner has been preliminarily charged with one count of Battery Resulting Serious Bodily Injury, one count of Operating While Intoxicated, and one count of Operating While Intoxicated-Refusal.
Gardner is being held in the Sullivan County Jail on $38,000 bond, no 10%.
The arrest followed two other shootings that took place earlier at the Uptown Tavern. In those shootings, police say Patrick Ruff and LeighAnn Lovelace sustained gunshot wounds to the head from the same suspected shooter. Both were taken to hospitals. Ruff was last listed in critical condition. Lovelace's injuries are non-life threatening.
Meanwhile, the suspected shooter has been identified as 35-year-old Timothy Kean. Kean was released from the hospital early Monday morning and immediately arrested by Indiana State troopers. He was taken to the Sullivan County Jail and charged with two counts of attempted murder.
