TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI - One man is behind bars, accused of breaking into several businesses on Terre Haute’s south side.
Terre Haute police arrested Brian Howard Tuesday, after a truck driver reported seeing the man trying to get into a store in the Plaza North shopping center.
Police had been looking for Howard in connection with a series of burglaries at doctor’s offices, dentist’s offices, restaurants and other businesses on the city’s south side. Those break-ins began in late February, police said. Investigators had identified Howard as the burglar captured by a security camera at one of the targeted businesses.
When he was interviewed by police after his arrest, Howard told them he had broken into 11 separate locations on the south side, said Assistant Chief Shawn Keen.
Howard appeared in court Wednesday afternoon. He faces 11 burglary charges and is being held on $75,000 cash bond.
