BRAZIL, Ind. (WTHI) - Brazil Police told News 10, it started Friday when three men picked up another man in Indianapolis. The man, James Bush, was picked up by three black men in a white SUV who offered Bush money for a job. When Bush questioned where they were driving, the men forced him to stay in the car. They drove him from Indianapolis to Brazil. Police said Bush tried several times to escape, but the three men physically prevented him each time.
When they reached Brazil, police said they then made the Bush put on new clothing and took him to First Financial Bank. That's where they forced the man to attempt cashing a forged check.
Once bank workers realized the check was forged, they called police. Brazil Police were able to catch two of the suspects on the scene. The third fled, but was later captured by a Clay County Sheriff's Deputy.
Clifton Thomas, Michael Thomas, and William Drake are being held in the Clay County Jail. All three men are charged with Criminal Confinement, Forgery, Theft, and Resisting Law Enforcement.
