Guns & uniforms stolen from cop's home

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - The Indiana State Police are looking for someone that broke into a state trooper's home.

News 10 has learned that Indiana State Police Detective Sam Stearley recently had his home broken in to and now several items are missing.

The thief took several guns and several of the detective's uniforms.

"We come to work everyday with our uniforms to help the public," Sergeant Joe Watts of the Indiana State Police said. "The last thing we want is someone using our uniforms to harm the public."

The guns can be identified by their blue color. One is a .45 caliber Glock, engraved with the ISP 75th year anniversary and a .40 caliber Beretta, with the ISP shield engraved on it.

Detective Stearley lives south of Interstate 70 in eastern Clay County.

State police have several leads, but are still looking for more information on the thefts.
