TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - William Simerell, 40, was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike under the influence of alcohol Saturday night.
Simerell pulled out in front of traffic at the intersection of Center St. and Margaret Ave. in Terre Haute, when he was struck by a pickup.
Simerell suffered head trauma and was taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
The driver of the pickup had not been drinking and was released at the scene of the accident.
Simerell's condition is not known at this time.
