Police: Vehicle hit bicyclist, took off

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - The Vigo County Sheriff's Department investigates a hit and run involving a bicyclist.

The incident occurred Monday around 5 P.M. on Old Fort Harrison Avenue. Police said Greg Bent was riding his bicycle when he said he was struck from behind by a vehicle.

Witnesses said the driver and passenger in the vehicle switched places before speeding off.

Bent was taken to Union Hospital with back injuries. He has since been released and is recovering at home.

Police said the vehicle is similar to a late 1980's Oldsmobile Delta 88 with faded gold paint with a blue Indiana plate.
