KNOX CO., Ind. (WTHI) - A Lawrenceville, Ill. man started his night hitting a parked car in Knox Co., and was later arrested for that and other charges.
A release from the Indiana State Police stated, around 11:48 p.m. Saturday, a 1999 Toyota Corolla struck an unattended parked car on Main St. in front of Old Towne Tavern. The driver then sped from the scene.
Later, he stopped near 2nd St., where he was approached by Jeremy Eisenhut, 24, of Vincennes, Ind. the bouncer of Old Towne Tavern, who witnessed the driver strike the parked car and fleeing.
Eisenhut contacted police and demanded the driver, Kurtis Waller, 21, of Lawrenceville, Ill., to remain put until authorities arrived.
According to the release, Waller allegedly struck Eisenhut in the face and fled into the Bottom’s Up Tavern located at 102 Main St.
The release stated, police quickly located Waller and detained him. After an investigation, the arresting officers determined that Waller was under the influence of alcohol.
After police took Waller to the Knox County Jail, they discovered he had a BAC of .16 percent. He’s currently being held in the jail.
