Charges: Man molested two children

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Police arrested a Terre Haute man Thursday on charges he molested two children between 1991 and 2008.

Herbert Sheese, 53, has been charged with two counts of Child Molestation.

The charges stem from allegations Sheese repeatedly performed sex acts on a boy and girl who lived with him and had sex with others in front of them. According to the charges, the abuse happened while the boy was between 7 and 13 years old and the girl was between 5 and 11 years old.

The girl, who is still a minor, told investigators she first remembered being molested when she was five years old, but she said her siblings told her she had been molested much earlier. She told authorities the alleged molestation stopped when she learned about inappropriate touching in school.

The boy, who is now an adult, told investigators Sheese molested him daily and often beat him. He said the alleged abuse began when he was in second grade.

Sheese’s bond was set at $100,000.
