SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTHI) - A man faces three charges of attempted murder in connection with a triple-shooting in Dugger, Ind. early Sunday morning.

Authorities believe Timothy Kean shot Leigh Ann Lovelace and Patrick Ruff outside a bar around 3:30 a.m., then shot at a passing pickup truck.

The driver of that truck, James Gardner, chased Kean to a home on County Road 600 East, where Gardner beat Kean, Police said.

Gardner was arrested and jailed but was later released without charges.

Ruff, Lovelace and Kean were all taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Lovelace is expected to recover, Ruff remains in critical condition.

Kean was arrested and appeared in court Tuesday morning, where the three attempted-murder charges were filed against him and his bond was set at $150,000 without the option of posting 10 percent.

According to police reports, Kean told investigators that Lovelace was the girlfriend of his brother, Andy Kean, who was in jail on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Kean said he believed Lovelace and Ruff were having an affair. He also told police he remembered shooting Ruff once but does not remember shooting either Lovelace or Gardner’s pickup.
