VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - A Vigo County baby is in critical condition.
The 1-year-old baby boy was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital Thursday night, then immediately airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
Vigo County investigators say a couple was babysitting the little boy and his sister for two days.
They took him to the hospital, saying he fell from a highchair.
The baby suffered from head trauma.
"There is a continuing investigation because of other marks and abrasions that were on the child's body that were questionable as to how that may have happened,” Vigo County Sheriff Greg Ewing said.
In the meantime, Child Protective Services has removed the mother's other two children from the home.
They also removed the babysitter's child from her home.
