TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - An accused arsonist appeared in a Vigo County courtroom Thursday after he was arrested by police in Sardis, Miss.
Tony Porter is accused of setting fire to two cars outside a Terre Haute home after a dispute with a woman in June 2012. Fire officials say the burning cars could have ignited the nearby home, and they credited the quick work of firefighters with stopping the blaze.
Porter is also accused of stealing two shotguns after the dispute.
He faces felony charges of theft and arson. Porter is being held in the Vigo County Jail on a $75,000 cash bond.
