Traffic stop nets 37 grams of meth

BRAZIL, Ind. (WTHI) - Three people are behind bars after a Tuesday morning traffic stop in Brazil, Indiana.

At around 12:30, police stopped a 1997 Chevy Blazer for equipment violations in the area of Washington and Church St.

The driver identified himself as Paul Callaway, but he could not produce any identification.

Two passengers were identified as Mackenzie Watson and Kali Rugenstein.

After an investigation, police found out that the driver claiming to be Paul Callaway was actually Justin Burnham.

Burnham was arrested for false informing, and was found to have a parole warrant through the Indiana Department of Corrections.

Police say they found 37.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine inside the vehicle along with syringes and other drug paraphernalia.

Both passengers, Watson and Rugenstein, were arrested and charged with visiting a common nuisance.

They're being held in the Clay County Justice Center on $3,000 bond, no 10% allowed.

Burnham was charged with dealing meth, a felony, possession of meth over three grams, a felony, maintaining a common nuisance, a felony, false informing, a misdemeanor, possession of reckless paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and driving while suspended.

Burnham is being held in the Clay County Justice Center on $25,000 bond with no 10% allowed.
