TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - One woman was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after an early Wednesday morning crash in the northern part of Terre Haute.
Around 3:42 a.m., a Terre Haute Police Officer was traveling southbound on Lafayette Ave., when a vehicle without headlights, traveling northbound, almost struck the Officer near Pennsylvania Ave.
The Officer turned around to pull the vehicle over; however, the driver, Natasha Lee, 20, of Terre Haute nearly struck another car.
Lee then proceeded to speeds around 80-miles-per-hour, finally losing control at the Otter Creek Bridge, striking a guardrail on the eastside of the road and come to rest in a ditch.
Lee was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to Methodist Hospital for head injuries. She's listed in stable conditions.
She's being admitted for observation, and charges of Resisting Law Enforcement may be filed.
The investigation is ongoing into the cause of the reason behind the erratic driving.
