TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTHI) - Police have arrested Eric Evans for allegedly beating and raping a woman in Terre Haute.
The incident took place Thursday morning on Foulkes Drive in the alleged victim’s home.
According to police, the woman and the alleged rapist were dating and when Evans' came home and found the door locked, he reportedly got mad and broke in through the screen.
He then allegedly beat her with a ball bat in front of two kids. She was then told to go upstairs and that is when Evans allegedly raped her. She escaped the house and ran to Farrington Grove Elementary School for help.
Evans is being held in the Vigo County jail on a $100,000 bond. Evans is facing charges of rape, criminal confinement, criminal deviant conduct and domestic battery.
