TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A seventh person has been indicted, linked to the shooting death of Terre Haute Police Officer Brent Long.

The FBI and the U.S. Attorney announced Wednesday that 48-year-old Brad Keller will face federal charges.

While the shooter, Shaun Seeley died, seven people are being held responsible for the officer's death.

They said Keller sold the gun to Scott Griffy who later traded it to Shaun Seeley. They said Seeley used the illegal gun to shoot and kill Officer Long.

FBI agents tracked the illegal gun all the way back to its origin with Brad Keller.

Keller, a five-time felon, is now facing federal charges.

“When you decide to sell a weapon to another individual, you better think about the consequences of that decision,” United States Attorney Joseph Hogsett said.

"I hope it sends a message that no matter what you do, or how small if it has an impact and results in a law enforcement officer's death, I think this proves here today that you will pay for that,” Terre Haute Police Chief John Plasse said.

If convicted, Brad Keller could face up to 10 years in federal prison.
