2 arrested, 3 injured in knife fight

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Two men were arrested Friday afternoon after a physical altercation turned bloody.

The incident stems from a fued dating back several months between Andrew N. Keller, 25 of Shelburn, IN and Robert J. Ellinger Jr. 25, of Terre Haute, IN.

Both men were at a residence on 10435 Chaffee Road in Terre Haute when a verbal altercation began. Keller tried to leave the scene in a pickup truck when Ellinger and others began beating the truck with golf clubs.

Upon asking Ellinger to stop, Keller exited the truck. Keller states he was struck in the head and body by several people wielding golf clubs.

According to witnesses, Keller then drew a knife and stabbed Ellinger.

A third person, Donald L. Norris Jr., 23, of Terre Haute, also received a few cuts from the confrontation.

After the fight was broken up, the pair were taken to an area hospital where Keller received 11 stitches and Ellinger received 39 stitches as a result of their injuries.

Keller and Ellinger were both arrested, and charged with Battery with a Serious, Deadly Weapon.

Both are being held in the Vigo County Jail at this time.

Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies, Prairieton Fire Department and Transcare responded to the incident.
