TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - With colder temperatures hitting the Wabash Valley, it's a good idea to make sure cars are ready for the harsh conditions that snow and ice can bring.
Frozen doors and a cold engine are the first obstacles. De-icing doors and windows with a door de-icer should help and let the engine warm up for a minute or two before hitting the road.
"Really does not require a long warm up or an extended warm up. The best way to warm up your engine is to drive it." owner of Aamco Transmissions Chris Wrin said.
Engines actually warm up faster without blasting the heat.
Properly inflating tires also helps make sure a car can hold up in the snow.
