TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Local elementary students got the chance to learn about different job possibilities Friday.

Rio Grande Elementary School held a career day for its students. Some of the occupations represented included a jingle writer, police officers and surgery techs.

The principal of Rio Grande said this is a great way for students to learn about the training and education needed for potential careers.

"The students love it. They have more questions about the job and the training then you could imagine," Rio Grande Principal Susan Cobb said.

A total of the 23 people came to Rio Grande to speak for their career day.
