Man robs local credit union

2nd robbery of a credit union this week

TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTHI) - There was another armed robbery at a local credit union.

Just before 8 a.m., authorities were called to the AA Credit Union on North 13th Street in Terre Haute.

Vigo County dispatch said an armed robber entered the business and ordered two women to the vault, where they were tied up. He was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash. An ambulance was called to the scene to assist the women who were bound up. They suffered minor cuts. 

"He made one of the clerks zip tie the other clerk that was there. Then, he zip tied her hands and feet and then starting asking them questions about where keys were and how to get into the vault," Normal Cottrell with the Vigo County Sheriff's Department said.

Police described the suspect as a black male with an average build, wearing all black with a pink, white and yellow scarf. He is around 5-foot-4.

The Vigo County Federal Credit Union on State Road 46 in Terre Haute was robbed on Monday.
