Alleged animal-abuser in court

The case of alleged animal-abuser, Roy Griese, was in city court Friday.

In November, Griese was cited with 15 ordinance violations for abandonment and cruelty to animals.

Now, the City Court Deputy Prosecutor is reviewing the violations with the possibility of raising some to misdemeanor charges.

Griese abandoned his former home where Code Enforcement officials found two dead cats and three severely malnourished dogs.  One of the dogs ultimately died while in the care of the Terre Haute Humane Society.
