TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Cooler temps could mean trouble for your car if you're not
prepared. Mechanics said now is the time to winterize your vehicle.
Things like checking your oil or battery and replacing
windshield wipers are small steps.
They said it's a good idea to have an emergency kit in case you're ever stranded.
"Make sure you got a flashlight and blanket and a little bit of kitty litter or something in case you do get off the road and in a ditch, might help you get out of that," Brian Norris of All American Auto Repair Inc. said.
Mechanics stress battery care because they said cold weather frequently drains battery life.
