PAXTON, Ind. (WTHI) - NEW: A preliminary autopsy report showed the victim died from strangulation.
Sullivan County Sheriff's deputies discovered the body of a woman in her mobile home on Monday.
Greene County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call about a disturbance in Linton, Ind. Police arrested Gregory Hale, 34, who was allegedly speaking about his involvement in the woman's death.
Police were then sent to 1837 East County 500 South around 1 a.m. and found a small fire. Once fire crews arrived, the body of 34-year-old Jennifer Peak was found inside.
Police said they believe Hale drove the victim's truck from the scene. The Ford pickup truck was found burned near the Greene-Sullivan State Forest.
According to police, Hale was aggressive with officers and had to be subdued with an electronic control device. He was treated and released from Greene County Hospital and is being held without bond at the Sullivan County Jail.
