TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The holiday season means you might be looking for the perfect Christmas tree. However, officials want you to stay safe.
Roughly 200 fires a year are caused by Christmas trees, leading
to nearly $ 6 million in damages a year. Of those fires, an average
of six result in death.
There are some things you should remember before putting up
your live Christmas tree.
Keep candles and heaters away from your tree.
Also make sure you don't plug too many lights into an
outlet.
