TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Three Indiana State Police troopers were fired from the Terre Haute post.

The troopers fired include Probationary Trooper Darryl Cooley, and Troopers Robert Decker and Jason Fischer.

The Indiana State Police say the firings are not related incidents.

Robert Decker was ordered to undergo counseling for alcohol abuse.

He was fired as a result of his failure to complete the counseling requirements.

The state police also say Decker tried to cover up his drinking by interfering in an internal investigation.

Decker was with the State police for two years.

Jason Fischer was an eight year veteran of the state police.

He lost his position for damaging state property.

Fischer admitted to forcefully applying the brakes to his department issued vehicle with the intention of causing extensive damage.

The State police say probationary troopers can be let go for any reason.

Probationary Trooper Cooley was terminated because his "work performance was unsatisfactory and did not meet the standards of the Indiana State Police".

The state police say allegations made against members of the department are thoroughly investigated and appropriate actions are taken.
