Many people across the Wabash Valley need to see a doctor regularly, but don't want to trade sitting in a waiting room for a doctor with seeing as less qualified Nurse Practitioner. In today's Healthy Living, we'll visit API Clinic on Third Street in Terre Haute, who has a solution to that problem!
Dr. Harish Rathod explains. “We started this clinic on May 15th and we have had a great response. I think there was a big requirement for this type of clinic. And we have been seeing 35-40 patients every day just during the last 5 months, so we are doing very well.
“Also, we are helping needy people. In this clinic we accept all kinds of insurances including Medicaid and Medicare. We don't discriminate against any forms of private insurances and government insurances. We see all the patients.
“We are seeing lots of chronic illnesses, like blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems. In the United States, more than 55 million people are suffering from hypertension alone. And, you see hypertension, diabetes and heart disease, they usually come together. We call it metabolic syndrome. We need to be very careful. These are all preventable diseases.
“We are here from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every single day, including Saturdays and Sundays. And the best thing about our clinic is you don't need any appointments. Patients can just walk in and see a doctor. The other best thing about this clinic is every patient is seen by an M.D. There is not a single patient that is seen by just a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant, but every patient gets to see an M.D. And our wait time is less than 10 minutes.
“Our website is www.APIClinic.com. Our phone number is 812-917-2358.”
