Are you familiar with the “triad of foot pain”? Or maybe you experience it and don’t even realize it. In today's Healthy Living, we’ll talk to one local doctor that thinks the “triad” is more common than most think and how he can help you overcome it.
Hello, I’m Dr. Hilaire. I specialize in heel pain. I’ve developed a new technique that will get you back on your feet with a minimal amount of downtime.
We’re going to talk about the “triad of heel pain” and my new procedure for the “triad of heel pain.” This involves inflammation of the plantar fascia, the Achilles tendon, and also neuromas, which are trapped nerves in here in the front part of our feet.
If the first few steps in the morning are very unbearable, it’s because this fascia is tightened overnight and you have micro-tears and bleeding that heals up with scar tissue. After a period of time, this band becomes less flexible. Our goal is to return the flexibility, make this more vascular, basically, make this tissue younger again, so it will respond to physical therapy such as stretching, icing, and so on. If you reach a plateau where you don’t seem to be getting good results my P.F.R. technique will help you tremendously by reducing the amount of scar tissue, increasing the amount of circulation, increasing flexibility of the plantar fascia, so you can get your life back.
