TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Union Health System President and CEO David R. Doerr has announced his retirement effective December 31, 2012.

Mr. Doerr formerly was the President and CEO of Union Hospital, Inc., and has worked in various leadership capacities at Union over the past 25 years.

“We will be building on the work David has undertaken for more than two years in developing a patient-oriented, community-based health system,” said Ken Baker, Chair of the System Board. “We are eager to identify a successor to continue that work and grow even stronger in confronting the many challenges of health care delivery and administration.”

Union Health System includes Union Hospital and Union Associated Physicians (UAP) Clinic.
