TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Saturday is the first ever Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
The national initiative is headed by the Drug Enforcement Administration .
The hope is to prevent increased pill abuse and theft.
Collection sites will be set up nationwide this Saturday.
The service is free and anonymous.
In Indiana, people can drop off unwanted medication to any state police post in Indiana.
Law enforcement officials will properly dispose of the medicines.
